Disobeying?
Day 160
April 7th 2024
What if Jason decided he no longer wanted to listen to his mother and did not awaken like she commanded?
This is one of the silly things in the plot that I have been dwelling on. At some point, we have a rebellious streak and stop listening to our parents. What if this one time Jason was like, no, I have had enough, I need a break.
Have you ever thought about how the story of Jason's return in the movie could have been more exciting and complex if Freddy had continuously messed with him in the dream realm, ultimately leading to Jason's reluctant return? But instead, the filmmakers chose to have Jason obey his mother's command. It makes you wonder why they opted for a more simplistic approach when they could have added layers of depth to the story.
In my opinion, the attempt to create a deeper emotional connection between the audience and Jason could have been executed more effectively. The filmmakers seemed to aim for sympathy towards his character, but the attempt fell short of its intended impact. If they had managed to successfully incorporate that depth, it would have enhanced the overall viewing experience.
If the filmmakers had depicted Freddy as the main bully character and hinted at his potential involvement in Jason's death, it would have significantly enhanced the level of interest and complexity in the movie. This creative decision could have added more depth to the plot and made the storyline more captivating for the audience.
We're left contemplating a string of alternative scenarios that could have elevated the movie to a higher level.
