Clothing optional?!?
Day 156
April 3rd, 2024
In the film, there are certain clothing choices made by characters that are hard to comprehend. The outfits seem to be out of place or perhaps inappropriate for the situation or environment they are in. It's not entirely clear what the intention behind these choices are and it can be a bit confusing for the audience.
In one of the scenes from the movie, I noticed something that struck me as quite amusing. It was during a school scene where one of the extras was wearing a Route 66 shirt. The outfit choice for that particular extra seemed peculiar to me, as it is not something a kid would typically wear in real life. The shirt had a distinctly vintage feel to it, almost as if it was something that your grandparents would wear on their Route 66 trip. It was an interesting detail that caught my eye and made me wonder about the thought process behind it.
The second piece of clothing that raised concerns is a seductive shirt that Lori is seen wearing over a plain white t-shirt at school. The shirt is designed to give off a provocative look inconsistent with Lori's character, as portrayed in the show. Although the shirt does not expose anything, many viewers may find it inappropriate and out-of-place for Lori's character. The script highlights the stark contrast between Lori's personality and the provocative nature of her shirt.
In my opinion, Gibb's baseball cap didn't suit her. I think the filmmakers did this to distract from Katharine Isabelle's natural beauty. They wanted to establish her character as the Janet Leigh of the movie, and as a result, her character has all the typical qualities of a horror film victim. She drinks, has sex, and smokes, but whether she does drugs is unknown.
