Aggression
Day 137
March 15th, 2024
We are thirteen days away from day 150. If my sanity lets me reach that milestone, we will be a little over a month away from the halfway point.
It was tricky with the last two posts, but I managed to pull it off.
The way Mark is explaining the dream concept to Lori is rather intense. It seems like he's putting a lot of pressure on her to understand his point of view. His facial expressions are intimidating, and it's making Lori uncomfortable. The intensity of his delivery is more frightening than any movie from both franchises. While communicating effectively is essential, Mark needs to tone it down and approach the conversation more calmly and gently. By doing so, he'll be able to get his point across without causing unnecessary fear or anxiety in Lori.
Let's discuss the notable moment in that scene where Mark expresses intense emotions towards her and highlights how fortunate she is to be alive. His facial expressions indicate he might have been upset or confused about why Freddy allowed such a situation. I also see him as being like, “Why are you so special? My brother died, and you are still alive; why?”
Mark’s anger towards Lori was unwarranted. As mentioned, if he came off calmly, it would have worked better in the scene. Mark is more mad at the situation and that Freddy is back. He was seemingly unaware that how he reacted was not the correct approach. After he spreads fear, escapes the school, and shows up at a library, it dawns on him about the town's plan. Then it dawned on him that he fucked up in the van. All Mark had to do was be calm, and maybe things would have worked out differently.
Why is the van so crucial to the film? Tomorrow, we will touch base on that.
