Day 18: The Reckoning.
Visually Impaired Challenge?
I took an odd approach in today’s viewing. I watched the movie as if I was visually impaired. It was the best viewing because you can play things out in your mind. Gives the film a different winner and a different ending with each view. You hear more background noises and the score than you can without a fancy sound system. I did get startled several times. In my opinion, descriptive audio would have killed the experience. Do I recommend this? It is up to you. I just wanted to try this to change things up.
The holidays are approaching.
I swear I picked the dumbest time to start this. The holidays begin next week, and I am still preparing for them. I used to like This time of the year but have grown to dislike it. Seasonal depression hits, and most of the time, I want to be left alone. I know that’s not good.
Who knows, it might have been the best time because the holidays will be over—leaving 10 months of uninterrupted viewings and emotions. I have a vacation in January, and I have one goal: Disney will let me do it. Stay on the People Mover and watch the film. If I have to get up, that’s fine; I can always pause the movie, get back in line, get on the ride, and pick up from where I left off.
It is that sometimes we need a break. I usually need a break from work, friends, and family. It can become too much and emotionally draining.
The project will not end. I will write less than I have. It takes me no time to whip up something to talk about, but a pause in writing to get through this last month of the year is a must. I don’t want to burn myself out. Maybe this project will help me get through the holidays.
Adding comedy to posts.
Comedy is a savior in this. At the end of the day, I just want to have fun with the project. I am far from being a serious writer and blogger. I keep a low social media profile, so this is a massive step. At the end of the day, I want to provide a laugh or two with either the commentary or adding stuffed special guests. At the end of the day, I like to have fun, and I do.
Burned out?
I will probably crash, but I will not burn. If I start the movie and know I am dosing off, I can’t restart the next day, so I do power through.
Today’s finding.
I need to keep the content coming, so I wanted to focus on the scene where Blake dies. It starts with his dad pissed off at him for not watching his sister, then we get the dream, and then we get the part that confuses me and wants me to explore the deleted scenes.
Questions about Blake’s death.
I feel that Blake’s dad was not pissed off at him for being at Lori’s. I imagine his dad wanting to have a heart-to-heart talk with him. He goes outside to console his son, asleep on the swing. I see the aggressive father at the start of the scene as a part of his dream.
How sharp is the machete?
How could his dad’s head stay attached until he was shaken?
Why did Jason decide to toy with Blake and attack him while awake?
This is the only scene in the movie where you get a sense of genuine danger from what is happening.
Unintentional comedy?
Using a head to protect you from being slashed is idiotic.
Why was there a goat in the dream? That is dumb as hell.
I feel that an offscreen death with blood splatter was in poor taste for the scene. I laughed at it because it was like, we have nothing, so let’s throw blood at a window.
Fans want to see the deaths. This isn’t the Clean Flix version of the film!!
Today’s winner is the man in the mask.
Freddy 5-9-4
Jason 6-8-4
