Day 10

Welcome to day Ten, November 9th, 2023.

I am proud of myself for getting this far in the project.

It took a lot for me to get around to watching this. I had an appointment today, and it wasn't a wrong appointment. After the appointment, I just felt sad and bummed out. Wanted to come back home and make a blanket burrito, but then I realized two things. I wasted a chance earlier in the day to watch the movie because of my niece, Sawyer. She gets extra clingy and loves her Uncle Josh. Today, when I was holding her, she would squirm into a position where she could rest her arms under her chin, smirking at others. She seemed to be rubbing it in that she had my attention. It was hella adorable.

Outside of that, it was a pretty uneventful day. I did watch something other than Freddy vs. Jason today, but it wasn't the same.

The show must go on!

If Freddy had killed Kia by giving her a lobotomy, I would have enjoyed that.

Judging by Lori's body language, she wanted nothing to do with our ball-scratching hero, Blake.

Was that Katherine Isabelle's body double for the sex scene…. I'm going to say no because her body double-looked thicker. There is nothing wrong with that.

Kids running to your cop car doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they need help. Why even bother asking them?

The more I watch this, the more I get upset that they didn't give us the Jason we wanted. I encourage everyone to watch Kane Hodder's documentary, To Hell and Back, and see how much that affected him. It is heartbreaking, and honestly, it was understandable and relatable for him to be upset about that.

Meeting Kane.

I met Kane Hodder this past August at Flashback Weekend. I was star-struck because here was the man who terrified me growing up, and I didn't have anything to say to him. I could even muster up saying thank you for what he did and how he provided a fun childhood for me.

A lot of what I do at conventions regarding celebrities depends on the people in front of me in line. If someone is having a life moment with that person, I don't want to repeat the same actions because I feel it can become emotionally draining on them. I always remember meeting ex-ECW/WCW/WWE star Mike Awesome. He appreciated the conversation he and my brother had with him because we had a normal conversation. He didn't gush over what he did; he treated him like a person. By doing that, we met Rob Van Dam and The Dudley Boys. It works, and I will dwell more on it as the project goes on with other people I've encountered.

If and when I meet Kane again, I will strike up that conversation and talk about Victor Crowley from the Hatchet series. He kills it in the second film, playing Victor's dad. Very emotional, especially for a horror movie.

Back to the show!

Nothing new to report.

Got your nose!

She wants a nose job, not breast augmentation. Why did the magazine focus on breasts and not the nose in that dream sequence?!?

How does Freddy choose who he contacts in the dream world? Does he have specific criteria he looks for? Do they have to live on Elm Street, or is the whole town free game?

Revelations: Mark Theory Part 2.

How did I miss this line, "My brother said it was our fear that gives him his power." (Freddy Vs Jason, 2003)

It was established seconds before that line that Mark's brother died by suicide. We are establishing a direct link to Freddy and his brother because he knew what powered Freddy. I am starting to wonder if I was right that Freddy killed his brother. Just think about it. You die in your sleep, cut by a razor knife glove in the dream; your wounds are noticeable outside of the dream world. In Mark's death sequence, you see his brother, who cut his wrists.

Why must these things happen????

Glowstick man was targeting Gibb. When she stumbled away from the rave, he jumped, stopped doing the awkward rave dancing movement he was doing, and went on the prowl.

Then, to ensure he will not get caught, he looks around. SMH, he got what he deserved, though.

Redeeming Qualities.

This group of dispatched teenagers has zero redeeming qualities. They are not even likable, and you don't see yourself rooting for any of them. Near the, they try the movie's back half to make you feel for the teens and even Jason, but it fails. They have zero logic in their thinking, let alone approach to what is happening. Focused more on the dream guy vs the actual physical threat in front of them; I just felt sorry for him for being manipulated by Freddy and being bullied as a kid, which led to his death. You could say that standing up to bullies is redeeming, but Kia bullies Linderman.

"It's not the sleep that is killing us, it's our dreams." (Freddy Vs Jason, 2003)

I have nothing for that line… You can also dream while you're awake, so in a sense, she is correct, but in the context of the movie, that line makes her look dumb.

There is only one redeeming quality of this movie. Robert Englund is having a good time; you can see it in his performance. HIt'se almost knew this was his final hurrah as Freddy, so go out with a bang.

An animated Freddy movie would work. We could have Robert doing the voice.

Cum joke. Sorry, Lori, he wasn't going to anyway.

It was pointless and like Lori was attacking Freddy's masculinity. I get the laugh they wanted.

Why do they scream for people to wake them up?

Screaming wake me up in your dream isn't going to alert those outside the dream realm to wake you up.

Today's winner is Freddy.

Freddy 4-6

Jason 5-5
