Unwanted Gifts?

 Day 227

Is it a gift to not die?

Pamela states that it is his gift that he cannot die. So when did Jason receive this gift? Why was this never explained in the films? We know he became a zombie in Part 6, and they showed the Necronomicon In Goes to Hell; plus, he receives a trip to hell thanks to the Kandarian Dagger in that film.

Still, none of this makes sense, and it took a comic book to tie everything together. Again, this is another missed opportunity.

Back to the original question: Is it a gift to be immortal?

It depends on how you want to answer. Do you want to see all of humanity die out, leaving you as the last person on earth? Or do you want to live a fulfilled life and go when your time is up?

In the context of the film, it was more of a blessing for Jason never to die. He could relive every day avenging his mother's death on a new unsuspecting group of campers. Rinse and repeat, just like this silly project.

One would think that Jason would eventually get bored doing the same thing repeatedly.  Maybe Jason finally got the rest he wanted before Freddy woke him up to spread fear.

Jason also did not have a choice in any of this. Maybe he didn't want to live forever? He seemingly had a hard life before the drowning at the lake. Being immoral, in my opinion, makes things worse for him. He could have just been a camp story that wasn't true in the universe of these films, and his mother could have been the one who made all of the killings out of grief.

Either way, when given a choice, I don't see Jason choosing to live on forever. He wouldn't have been able to make that choice based on his disability. I think he would have wanted to live a fulfilled life.

Then again, maybe he did want to live forever, racking up that kill count!
