Chapter Six

The chapter starts with Lori finally being picked up from the police station. As a father, Dr. Campbell doesn't care about his daughter and what she went through. Let alone what just happened at the house.

The description of Dr. Campbell drugging his daughter treads lightly. He was even more sneaky, adding the pill to the orange juice, unlike its movie counterpart where they don't rely on the sneaky aspect of his actions. It is evident and blunt.

Of course, her father would be a great person to have around for comfort; he locked her boyfriend away!

The anger Dr. Campbell has in Will escaping Westin Hills would have been an excellent addition to the film. The book does a great job of showing the anger he had.

Police containment… That has always been the way with Elm Street?!?

The book describes how the police always cover up any situation that was to arise on Elm Street by containing it. I smell a cover-up that lasted from 1966 until 2003...

The book includes the deleted scene where Lori scratches the paint off the front door to discover that the door is not yellow; it is red. I remember that door once being blue… They should have kept that scene in the film, to be honest.

Showing Mark and Will break into Mark’s house to get a change of clothes would have been an excellent addition to the film.

Showing Gibb yell at her classmates for staring at her would have been an excellent addition to the film, along with adding more depth to her character.

One thing I hate is what came before that. Mark is simply collateral damage to the police if she were to die. Finding Will was their main priority.

Mark mentioning the possibility of Lori being the one to die would have been an excellent addition to show in the film. Seeing them be sneaky traveling through Springwood without being caught also would have been nice to see.

The book is a bit misleading. It sounds like Lori was outside telling people about her nightmare, but when she passes out, she is in the school.

The chapter comes to a close as Lori passes out after seeing Will.
